Posted on September 12th 2026 by Lalovich

What’s coming to Lakeshore?

Construction has started on the new Lakeshore Town Centre at County Road 22 and Renaud Line. A few big names are already confirmed, and there’s still room for more.

Quick Facts

  • What: Lakeshore Town Centre, a new retail plaza
  • Where: County Road 22 and Renaud Line, Lakeshore, Ontario
  • Confirmed tenants: FreshCo, Shoppers Drug Mart and Dollarama
  • Still to come: six additional commercial units, including space for a quick-service drive-thru restaurant
  • Status: construction has started

What We Know So Far

So far, FreshCo, Shoppers Drug Mart and Dollarama are confirmed for the Lakeshore Town Centre. The site plan also shows six additional commercial units, including space for a quick-service drive-thru restaurant.

Why This Matters for Lakeshore

This is the part I find most interesting as a commercial realtor in Windsor-Essex.

For people living nearby, this could mean fewer trips into Belle River or over to Manning Road just to run everyday errands. A grocery store, a pharmacy and a discount retailer in one place cover a lot of weekly needs.

Anchor tenants like these also matter for the rest of the plaza. A busy grocery store and pharmacy bring steady, everyday traffic, which makes the remaining units more attractive to other businesses. That’s usually how a new retail centre fills up.

What This Says About Windsor-Essex

Retail follows rooftops. As Lakeshore continues to grow, national brands are moving in to serve those households closer to home. It’s another sign that the County’s growth is pulling commercial investment along with it.

What Happens Next

The big question now is who fills the remaining spaces. With six more units on the site plan, including a drive-thru pad, there’s room for restaurants and service businesses. We’ll share updates as new tenants are announced.

Final Thoughts

Send this to someone in Lakeshore who’ll definitely have an opinion on what should go in here.
