Windsor’s long-awaited new mega-hospital is finally moving forward, with construction expected to begin as early as 2026.

Windsor Regional Hospital has confirmed that EllisDon has been selected as the Construction Manager for phase one of the Fancsy Family Hospital Project. EllisDon has a strong history of delivering major health care projects across Ontario, and their involvement is a clear signal that this project is gaining real momentum.

The first phase will include an administration centre, simulation training labs, classrooms, and a multi-level parking garage that connects directly to the future hospital. These are important pieces of infrastructure that will set the stage for the state-of-the-art acute care facility Windsor and Essex County have been waiting for.

It represents the first visible step in a project that will transform health care for our region and bring a new level of care closer to home for residents.
